TESTIMONIALS
I started my first boot camp on October 14th of 2013. I weighed in that morning at 227 lbs. I had no intention of changing my eating habits (I had no idea how bad I needed to), I just wanted the exercise. My 4th baby was almost a year old and I had had gestational diabetes with that pregnancy. Both my parents and my brother were diabetic so I knew I needed to get some weight off or I was headed that way too. Plus, I couldn’t carry my baby upstairs or play with my kids without getting winded and I was tired all the time. Ronnie handed me a meal plan after the workout that morning that told me exactly what to eat when and then gave me a substitute sheet so if I didn’t like or couldn’t eat something on the plan I knew exactly how to sub for it. I decided to give it a try. Wow, I had no idea how much I was eating in one day until then, it made me sick to think about. The first few days on the meal plan were really hard, I was STARVING!! I literally almost ate my 3 year-old’s arm off when she ate a few of my “25 allowed” almonds! But after a few days I had adjusted. That following Monday I weighed in at 218 lbs., 9 lbs. down in one week….I was hooked!! Over the course of the next five weeks I lost a total of 24 lbs., but more importantly, I could carry my baby upstairs, I could play with my older kids, I wasn’t tired all the time and I now knew how to eat much better.
Ronnie was encouraging and supportive each step of the way. He would always say, “Just keep moving” or “This is when it really counts-when you think you can’t do one more, push through the pain” or “You can do this”. He is such a great trainer and he genuinely cares about his clients. He knows when to push you and when to back off; he knows exactly what you need to be your best. I still do boot camp and I try to do the meal plan off and on and now my kids go with me every once in a while. This has been a lifestyle change for me and my family and I will forever be grateful to Ronnie for that. Marcy Price, Spartanburg |
Just a few months ago, I was in the hospital for a week. I was very sick, confused and my blood pressure was extremely high. With a ton of IV medications they finally got it back to normal. When I got out of the hospital, I was so weak I could hardly walk from my bedroom to the bathroom. It was four months before my doctor would release me back to work and would allow me to exercise. Initially I had one main reason for getting back in the gym and that was to hopefully extend my life by getting healthy and fit. My husband has end stage COPD and is struggling to breathe right now. Watching him get weaker and weaker by the day just motivates me to want to work harder to become as healthy as possible. I am 58 years old and have 3 children and 4 grandchildren and another due in September. I need to do all I can to be here for my family. With my husband getting sicker every day, I also need all the energy I can get to deal with the everyday stress.
Now, why did I choose Ronnie Kirby to train me? I had been researching personal trainers for some time. I read several reviews about his work and I knew some people he had trained and they gave him huge compliments! So that’s why I chose Ronnie and I am so thankful every day that I did. I honestly believe he has saved my life! I have also been able to quit taking a lot of the medicines I had been taking as well! What a bonus! Even though I am a Registered Nurse, I realized very quickly I had very little knowledge compared to Ronnie, about nutrition. Choosing Ronnie provided me with 2 experts, i.e. personal training and nutrition. If you had told me 2 months ago I would give up salt, sugar, soft drinks and “Little Debbie” cakes, I would have told you that you were crazy! (My family is in shock). I was so motivated when I first met with Ronnie that I gave it all up “cold turkey”. I have learned that training without good nutrition is a losing battle, and I don’t like to lose.
I’ve only been working with Ronnie for 2 months but am already seeing results. This is so exciting and motivating. It’s not easy, but then again what’s the accomplishment without hard work? I know there is a lot of hard work and discipline ahead because I have decided to train for a figure competition next year! I would have never considered something like this without Ronnie’s encouragement and support. It’s great to have someone as experienced, dedicated and motivating to work with. The greatest bonus with Ronnie is he actually provides you with his cell phone number and encourages his clients to contact
him any time with question or concerns. Who does that???
I could go on and on, but I just wanted to take a few minutes to express my thanks and gratitude for what Ronnie has done for me so far, and hope someone who might be on the fence about getting healthy with diet and exercise will learn something from my experience. I feel the best I’ve ever felt!

Ronnie has really helped me get back into shape and feel good about myself. He showed me how to work at my own pace and never once made me feel uncomfortable. After gaining baby weight, I just couldn't get back into the swing of things. At my son's 3rd Grade Graduation, I saw pictures of myself and didn't recognize myself. I couldn't stand another day feeling fat and sluggish. I was already a member of the gym, I just needed some guidance. I sat with Ronnie one morning and asked him to help me. He was so easy to talk to and realistic about the goals he set for me. Ronnie really takes a personal interest in your fitness needs, no matter what problems may arise. I didn't see a very fast change but I kept training and trying my best to stick to the meal plan. I lost about 45 lbs. in about 10 months. More than anything, I am stronger and just feel good. I now have energy to run after my kids and play games with them. Words can't describe how wonderful it is to be able to give my 9 year old a run for his money.
Thank you Ronnie, You are the BEST!!!! Shana Henjes, 46 Spartanburg |
